Hair transplantation, also called capillary implantation, is a procedure by which, through minor surgery, hair roots can be transplanted from one part of the scalp to another part that has lost its hair permanently. This permanent and permanent hair loss can be caused by hereditary factors, some type of accident or by stress problems. The technique of hair transplantation ensures that the implanted hair regrows effectively in the same way as in the place from which it has been extracted.

The hair transplant is especially suitable for all those people, especially men who have a hair recession in the front area of the scalp, or a depopulation in the popular crown, that is, suffering from alopecia problems. Although it is also important to mention that hair transplantation is indicated for those who suffer other types of hair problems in any of the following cases that the patient suffers:

  • Scarring Alopecia
  • Alopecia by burn
  • Alopecia areata (area of bordered and circumscribed baldness)
  • Androgenic alopecia (caused by hereditary reasons)

The hair transplant does not have contraindications and in principle can be done in any person, as long as the baldness that the subject possesses is not so extreme that the surgeon does not have enough hair follicles in order to perform the transplant properly. It is also not advisable to perform it on people who have shaved their heads in the days prior to the intervention, since it is necessary that the hair has a length that is not less than two centimeters.

The results obtained by the hair transplant are really natural, so that no one will notice that a hair transplant has been performed, and your grafted hair will normally grow in the area where the transplant was performed. The transplanted hair will not fall again, which ensures that we will not have hair problems again in the treated area. The person affected by hair loss will notice greater density in their hair, will restore the natural hair line, providing a natural shape and appearance. Hair transplantation is a safe and effective technique with which we will solve our hair problems and recover our lost hair due to alopecia.

Thanks to this capillary procedure it is possible to recover the hair that has been lost by the patient as a result of various motives giving a completely natural appearance undetectable by the people close to us.

What is the technique of hair transplantation based on?

This technique is based primarily on extracting a narrow strip from the donor area of the scalp (back of the patient’s head), between four and fifteen centimeters in length and one centimeter wide depending on the number of grafts required. The incision in the donor area is done by means of a trichophytic technique, which allows the scar to be minimized and the hair can grow back through the scar again.
After extracting a strip of hair follicles to be implanted from the donor site, the extracted strip is processed by special microscopes where each follicular unit is carefully separated and subsequently transplanted subcutaneously into each of the micro-holes that have been made Using a sterile scalpel and microsurgery forceps in the receiving area.
As a rule, hair that is long is not transplanted, only the hair follicle or root of the hair that is not affected by androgenic alopecia is transplanted.
The complete duration of the surgery can vary between three hours and seven hours, in a completely safe and effective way.

Body areas suitable for Hair Transplantation

Although most of this procedure is used to repopulate areas of the scalp that have suffered hair loss, this technique is also suitable for repopulating facial and body areas such as beard, eyebrows, mustache or pubis. In these cases the only thing that varies with the hair transplant of the scalp is the duration of the intervention, since in these cases it is between two and four hours.
